This class is designed primarily for juniors although seniors may enroll under special circumstances. Emphases in this class will be placed on American Literature, with particular study of the historical development of the United States and the forms of short stories poetry, and biography. Original student composition to illustrate various literary genres with extensive study of punctuation, sentence structure, and vocabulary development will be integrated with the literary considerations.
