Class content:  During this trimester we will read, write, discuss, and share through presentations our ideas and thought on the subject matter at hand. We will cover a wide range of topics including: literature, poetry, grammar, vocabulary, and note taking skills

Grading:  Grading will be on a simple percentage scale.
90%-100% =A
80%-89%   =B
70%-79%   =C
60%-69%   =D
59%-below =F

Effort and participation can influence your grade

Late Work:  Your will have up to one week after an assignment has been called for to get it turned in. If you have an excused absence then the assignment will be due one week after your return. Any work turned in after the due date is subject to a 20% penalty. IF YOU ARE GONE FROM SCHOOL IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO FIND OUT WHAT YOU MISSED AND GET IT TURNED IN.

Extra Credit:  If you want it you have to earn it. Ask me for details on how to gather these points.

Materials:  You will need a three ring binder. Divider. Lined paper. NO SPIRAL BOUND NOTEPAPER PLEASE. Pens must be blue or black ink. A Reading Book

Tardies and Absences: The current policy in place for SRHS will be followed with regard to this issue. If you are in attendance and on time it becomes a no-factor for all of us involved.

Behavior: Common courtesy is expected. You’re in high school so knowing how to act and what is expected in the classroom isn’t a new concept to any of you. ACT APPROPRIATELY

No-Nos: Electronic devices of any kind. I see them I keep them for the day. Second offense it goes to the office and you can retrieve it from there. Don’t let it become an issue. Most of you aren’t that sneaky, not to mention both of us have better things to do with our time in class than to see if you can get away with it or if I can catch you.
